ASCA has a long history (over 30 years) of providing phone and email guidance and/or support to any person, from any school council or community, as well as parent groups, education partners, and citizens of Alberta, on any matter impacting school councils and/or their affiliated fundraising associations. While ASCA was previously funded through a Conditional Grant by Alberta Education to provide this level of service, this funding no longer comes to ASCA directly, and instead is distributed to Alberta’s school councils directly.
Private Consultations (PC) and Support Conversations (SC) remain available to anyone requiring them, subject to ASCA availability (see Calendar) and a fee after the initial 15 minute review, assessment, or response. Please see ASCA Support Services for pricing guidelines.
School Councils/communities requiring more than a 15 minute response from ASCA are entitled to use their $500 Alberta School Council Engagement (ASCE) Grant funds for these ASCA services. ASCE Grants funds can be used for ASCA Private Consultations or Support Conversations, (most often with an ASCA Instructor), other Support Services, and ASCA Learning Opportunities.
The initial 15 minute review, assessment, or response is complimentary. Any additional consultation or support will be scheduled, and a Fee for Service Contract will be applied.
*Note: These services are also available for Fundraising Associations; however, associated Fees for Service are not ASCE Grant eligible.
