ASCA Access Pass Session Descriptions

How to Share Access Pass Information

Registration is required by each individual planning to attend any Access Pass presentation.

For School Councils who have paid for the ASCA Access Pass, the Registration Link for all sessions will be located in the Access Pass Subscribers Section.

Please share the registration link only with others in your school community, and ask each individual planning to attend to register individually. We need to keep track of how many ‘bodies’ we anticipate having to ensure we have the adequate space in Zoom, and manual resources in attendance to support everyone.

Empower Your Child’s Learning Journey with Generative AI
Tuesday, October 21, 2025
12:00 noon

Looking for new ways to support your child’s K–12 learning — at home, after school, or alongside what’s happening in the classroom? This engaging session will show you how to turn the Alberta curriculum into personalized, meaningful learning experiences using Generative AI tools like ChatGPT. Learn how to create lessons that match your child’s interests, build your own Custom GPTs to assist with specific subjects, and connect with other parents exploring the same tools. Whether you want to boost confidence, inspire curiosity, or make learning more fun, you’ll leave empowered with practical skills to help your child succeed — anytime, anywhere.

About the Speaker:

Dr. Edward Tse is a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence (Ai) and a global EdTech leader who turns generative Ai into a parenting superpower. As a father of two children in elementary and middle school, he uses Ai daily to transform boring homework into exciting stories that fit his children's interests. Dr. Ed founded Ai Parenting to help families reclaim their children's attention from addictive algorithms and instead empower them to build robots and learn about Ai through comic books. Dr. Ed is a geek kid who was taught to apply creativity to everything he does by his Grade 7 French teacher, and he’s now equipping a new generation with foundational Ai skills they need to compete in a global workplace.

Supporting Your Child Through Life’s Transitions
Wednesday, September 24, 2025 7:00 p.m.

Change is a constant in our children’s lives - moving to a new school, joining a new team, or shifting to a different social environment. These changes can spark excitement, and they can also bring uncertainty, worry, and even grief.

In this engaging session, we’ll explore why transitions feel so different for each child, touching on the unique ways we all respond emotionally - from how sensitive we are to change, to how quickly we bounce back. We’ll also talk about “fit” - why some environments feel more comfortable than others, and how kids can find spaces where they belong by exploring new clubs, teams, and social groups.

You’ll learn practical strategies for supporting your child during times of change:

  • Staying non-judgmental when emotions run high
  • Balancing both sides of the story - acknowledging what’s hard and what’s exciting
  • Fostering curiosity to help your child feel prepared and confident

Whether your child is stepping into a new school year, a new community, or a new phase of life, this presentation will give you tools to guide them with empathy, understanding, and connection.
